Supporting pupils’ well-being

Safeguarding pupils’ well-being is the starting point of high-quality basic education. The pupil’s home and school cooperate to achieve it. At school, pupils have support in learning and school attendance and access to collective and individual pupil welfare services, which are linked to health care and the services of school psychologists and school social workers.  Anti-bullying activities and intervening in bullying are everyday practices at schools and are carried out according to the policies set out for them. Schools also apply a policy for intervening in absences. Balanced and healthy school meals support pupils’ daily coping and their normal growth and development.
