Come and study dance at the Kainuu Music Institute’s Ballet Kaukametsä! 

Kainuu Music Institute has been providing dance lessons since 1975. The Music Institute’s dance programme was named Ballet Kaukametsä in 2013. 

Kainuu Music Institute provides dance lessons in accordance with the extended syllabus for basic education in the arts, which is based on the national core curriculum determined by the Finnish National Agency for Education. The studies develop students’ ability to pursue and perform dance creatively and in a diverse way, and prepare them for potential professional studies in dance. 

Ballet Kaukametsä’s classes include fairy tale ballet for 3 to 5-year-olds, elementary ballet for 5 to 8-year-olds, classic ballet from 9 onwards, youth ballet from 13 onwards, adult ballet, modern dance from 6 onwards, jazz dance from about 10 onwards and special training groups for classical ballet. The lessons mainly take place at the Kainuu Music Institute’s Leihu Hall.
