Guides in Kajaani

Kajaanin Matkailuoppaat ry

Kajaani Guides were awarded the Guide Association of the Year by the Guide Association of Finland.

Kajaani guides have been guiding tourists and showing them round the town since 1976.  With the help of a professional guide, you will get a good general idea of the town, its past and present – quickly and at low cost. You can choose a regular 1 to 2 hour tour or a fixed programme to a certain theme or a visit to an interesting site. Guided walks are easy to arrange; such a tour takes the visitor around the town centre and to see the sights along the riverbank. We do guided tours in Finnish, English and Russian. Our 19 Kajaani guides are capable of having multiple groups on any tour. However, the tour programme is always arranged in accordance with the group’s wishes - whatever they are, we will make it happen.

Town tours, basic sightseeing tours in town and Paltaniemi
During a one-hour tour we have time to see the sights in the town centre. A two-hour tour takes us, in addition to the town centre, to Paltaniemi where we visit the stone church built in 1726 and the Emperor’s Stables, Keisarin talli. Another very popular place to visit in Paltaniemi is the Eino Leino House.
